Valuations

VALUER

Clinton Rich is a practising valuer of performance horses.  He has been a member of the Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) since 2006.

Clinton has 30 years experience in the Australian horse industry as a breeder, competitor, coach, judge and official.  He has been employed in, competed and involved with many horse disciplines including thoroughbred studs and racing, standardbred racing, showing, EFA showjumping and eventing, and for many years up to the present, the sport of dressage.

METHODOLOGY

There are currently no Australian standards relating to the valuation of performance horses. Clinton adopts a recognised American horse valuation model. He is presently developing a model unique for Australian performance horses that accurately reflects the differences between breeds and disciplines.

When a car or house is valued, well defined criteria is used to guide the process. Horse valuations adopt some of these same principles, but in addition take into account many things such as age, gender, pedigree, soundness, conformation, temperament and performance history.

If you have a horse to be valued, contact Clinton to see if he can be of assistance and for elaboration on how his fees are structured. Look at the Contact Us page for his details.
