Horse breeders, especially first timers and city folk, may lack the knowledge, experience and facilities to look after a mare and care for the foal. Or it may be the case that the mare has had difficulty breeding in the past and needs close supervision.
If you want to help these breeders but worry about managing their expectations, protecting your interests and avoiding liability, this contract takes care of the business details, including:

  •  disclosure to you of the mare’s health status
  •  breeder’s acknowledgement of the numerous risks of breeding
  • delivery of the mare
  •  the foaling down process
  •  your authority to engage a vet to protect the mare, in utero foal and foal
  •  fees and expenses payable to you and your rights on default
  • timing of collection of the mare and foal
